All our regular meetings, held the first and third Tuesday of each
month, are dinner meetings. Before our meetings we get together
at Silver Lake Market Building, 320 St. Patrick Street, 5:30 P.M. for
a social hour, providing
members an opportunity to discuss matters of interest and to just mingle
in an informal environment. The Dinner meeting 6:45 P.M. is held at
St. Paul's Parish Hall 302 St. George Street. The dinner is followed
by our business meeting, committee reports and guest speakers from time to time.
Our members are asked to visit clubs in the local Region, to maintain good
relations and to share ideas about community needs.
Our October 2009 meeting took on a special significance when

Annual A-2 Friendship Convention
District A-2 traditionally holds an annual Friendship Convention the last weekend
in March (timing occasionally varies). The convention is a three day affair.
Friday night is dedicated to hospitality suites by each club having a candidate
running for elected office. Provides candidates an opportunity
to share their visions with all comers in an informal environment.
Candidates usually perform colourful, clever skits to woo voter support
at the Saturday morning parade of clubs and cndidates.
All in all the convention is a lot of fun with a great
deal of business mingled in with the entertainment and guest speakers.
Election of officers for the coming year is one of the major
accomplishments of the convention. Conventions are a wonderful
opportunity to meet Lions from across the land, sharing
ideas while having a great time.

The Port Dover Lions dedicate the last meeting in June to
Ladies night.
Ladies night is a semi formal affair that allows Lions
to share the evening with spouses, includes a great dinner
with some entertainment. We also include our loved ones in
the annual Christmas celebration, hosted by the Lion Chief.
Annually the Lions sponsor a Youth Exchange program.
Local youth get an opportunity to visit far away places
taking in the beauty, learning about culture and customs
of the places visited. Youth from around the world come to
visit our country and partake of our culture and hospitality,
while sharing a great time with youth from around the world, for
two weeks. Many life time friendships and bonds have come
out of these exchange visits.
